New Moon in Aries

The Moon catches up with the Sun at 9°01′ Aries on 29 March 2025, 10:59 UTC. Both bodies stand at the same degree, which is what a new moon is: the Moon is between us and the Sun, its lit face turned away, invisible from the ground.

Traditionally this is the start of a cycle rather than the end of one — the point at which something is begun quietly and without much evidence it will work. The fire quality of Aries colours what is being started: something is being risked rather than planned, and the impulse arrives before the reasoning does.

Because Aries is cardinal, the cycle it opens tends to start abruptly and demand a decision early.
