New Moon in Capricorn

The Moon catches up with the Sun at 17°19′ Capricorn on 7 January 2027, 20:26 UTC. Both bodies stand at the same degree, which is what a new moon is: the Moon is between us and the Sun, its lit face turned away, invisible from the ground.

Traditionally this is the start of a cycle rather than the end of one — the point at which something is begun quietly and without much evidence it will work.
