Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio

Venus comes to a standstill at 8°29′ Scorpio on 3 October 2026, 07:37 UTC, and begins to move backwards against the fixed stars.

Nothing is actually reversing. Retrograde motion is a perspective effect: Earth and Venus are on different tracks at different speeds, and for a stretch of weeks we overtake it — or it overtakes us — so it appears to slide backwards across the sky. Astrologers have read that apparent hesitation for two thousand years, and the reading has stayed roughly the same.

Venus governs affection, taste and what we think things are worth, so its retrograde tends to bring back people and pleasures from earlier chapters, and to unsettle recently made decisions about money and beauty. The station itself is usually the most noticeable part: motion slows to nothing before it changes direction, and things governed by Venus tend to stall, repeat or need redoing in the days either side.
