Runs on the clock and objects to it being moved. Meals, walks and the good sleeping spot are non-negotiable, and the sulk when a routine changes is genuinely impressive. Food-motivated to a degree that makes training easy and weight management hard.

Curious, vocal and bored within about four minutes. Learns commands unusually fast and then loses interest in performing them. Needs new problems more than more exercise — a puzzle feeder will do more for this one than another mile.

Does not like being alone and does not really like conflict either. Gets on with other animals more easily than most, and is the one that inserts itself between two that are squabbling. Indecisive at doorways. Grooms and is groomed.

Intense, watchful and one-person by preference. Doesn't forgive the vet. Holds eye contact longer than is comfortable, keeps a private stash somewhere, and either loves you completely or has decided about you already.

A bolter. Nose down, gone, and delighted about it. Genuinely friendly with everyone, terrible at boundaries, and happiest somewhere new. Fence height is a topic in this household.

Serious, self-contained and oddly dignified from early on. Not especially playful, but reliable — this is the one that works out the household rules and then keeps them. Ages well and often seems middle-aged at two.

Odd, in a way owners struggle to describe to other people. Sleeps somewhere inexplicable, has one bizarre fixation, and is affectionate strictly on its own schedule. Independent to the point of seeming aloof, then suddenly not.

Soft, absorbent and easily overwhelmed. Startles at noise, mirrors whatever the house is feeling, and needs somewhere dark to retreat to. Unusually gentle with children and smaller animals, and the first to notice something is wrong.
Common questions
Can you really do a birth chart for a dog or cat?
You can compute one, and this page does — the positions are real, calculated from the same ephemeris used for human charts. What changes is the interpretation. Most of a natal chart is about interior life and biography, neither of which applies to an animal, so a pet reading sensibly limits itself to temperament and disposition rather than pretending to predict a cat's career.
What if I don't know my pet's exact birthday?
Very common with rescues, and usually not fatal to the reading. The Sun holds a sign for roughly thirty days, so an estimate that is accurate to within a week or two almost always lands on the right sign. If your vet gave an approximate age, work backwards to the month and use the middle of it — the degree shown will tell you how close to a boundary that guess sits.
Does my pet's zodiac sign actually affect their personality?
Breed, early socialisation and how an animal was raised explain far more about behaviour than a birth date does, and it would be dishonest to suggest otherwise. What a sign reading offers is a vocabulary — a set of temperament descriptions specific enough to be recognisable or not. Owners generally know within a sentence whether it fits.
Is a pet's birth chart the same as a human one?
The astronomy is identical. The Sun was where it was regardless of what was born under it. The difference is which parts get read: houses, which describe areas of a human life, are largely meaningless for an animal, and the Ascendant would require a birth time almost no pet owner has. The Sun sign, and where sensible the Moon, is the honest scope.
